How to Prep Mugs

As Amazon arbitrage gains in popularity, people are having questions about how to safely ship certain items. One common and popular item that I chose to cover in my video today is how to safely prepare and package mugs for shipping.
Safe and Neat Packaging
Even though mugs can be very fragile, safely packing them is actually quite simple. I’ll quickly share how I package my mugs in 5 simple steps.
I take my scotty peeler and remove price tags or stickers (Finger nails work too).
Sometimes there will be sticky adhesive residue left behind that I like to use some of my Goo-Gone and clean that up a bit.
Cut a large piece of bubble wrap and roll the mug in the wrap. Tuck the top-end into the opening of the mug.
Next fold the bottom on itself (kind of like wrapping a present) and adhere it with a small strip of packing tape. Now you’re looking like a pro!
Place your tightly rolled mug into a clear poly-bag and cleanly seal it. This is again really just another step to boost the professionalism of the packaging.
Place a fragile sticker and your SKU on the outside of the bag.
Lastly, I place the nicely bagged and wrapped package into a shipping box and attach one final fragile sticker and the UPC shipping label on the box.
TIP : You can also put your mug in a plain shipping box for added protection. Be sure to put a your fragile and SKU stickers on the outside of that box.
Survive a 3 Foot Drop
Generally to know if your package is properly secured, it should be able to survive a fall from the height of three feet without breaking or fracturing. So always make sure to use enough bubble wrap.
This is also where the security of a cardboard box can act as that first layer of protection.
Conclusion
Shipping a fragile mug isn’t as daunting as it can seem to be. With a little prudence, some careful rolling and strategic tape placement, you too can be packing and shipping like the pros!
