2 Stores, 4 Hours, $294 Profit

It's the dog-days of summer and I am feeling every bit of the mercury rising. These are the times when I tell myself to just keep on truckin’.

I have been feeling down the past few days. If you've watched my video from last week, you already know why. We don’t need to delve into that again. If you haven't seen the video yet, here’s your chance to go back and watch it. Now come along with me and see if we can boost my profits as well as my spirits.

Happy Little Leads

The plan for today was to take it easy a bit and not bowl over 10 stores today. First up is a lead-laden stroll through Grocery Outlet. GO today was something of a lead haven. We found a replen on a beauty item that has been selling really well, so we got 4 of those.

As a test I purchased a new brand of a cleaning product. Fingers crossed that the 4 I purchased fly off the shelf. I stumbled across a drink mix that I can bundle for a modest profit. We were only able to procure 1 though. Sad face. After about 2 hours in GO I have racked up roughly $74 in net profits. Not too shabby.

The second and final store on the rounds today, you know it, you love it… it’s an oldie but a goodie… Big Lots! Would any sourcing trip really be complete without saying hi to my friends at my local BL? Not to mention (although I will mention it) today I have a $15 off coupon when you spend $50 or more! Deals AND coupons!? It's like I hit the Daily Double!

The first aisle, as always, was makeup and beauty. I did find a lead there that should sell pretty well. I grabbed 2 of those. Like I always say, “Always be on the lookout for replens,” so I got 2 different flavors of the same drink mix bundle. Again, we got some more cleaning items. You can never be too clean! I was recently ungated on Barbie, so ultimately I got 1 Barbie to give that a shot and see what the Barbie market is like. I think I found about $61 of profits from another 2 hours of mild hunting.

Tips For Rooks

  • Never forget your leads list.

Even on a day when you have mush brain and have no clue what to look for or where to start, don’t worry. You have your leads list! It will point you in the right direction.

  • Always check the expiration dates on grocery items.

A lot of times when you're shopping at discount stores, their products may not always be the freshest of the lot. You will often find expired or soon-to-be expired products.

  • Grocery Outlet is an awesome store to source from if you are just beginning your Amazon arbitrage business.

GO is a great place for household items for beginners that are not yet ungated.

Conclusion

After everything was inventoried and added together, I think today went really well considering I only went to two stores today. Including the online sourcing that I did this week I estimate a net profit of $294.34 off of a buy cost of just $272.36. 38 new items and 3 packed boxes later, I’m feeling a little bit better about everything.

Nothing beats a little retail therapy.
