FRENCH FRIES. The most perfect fuel for sourcing (Note I am not a dietician.) I feel that if I treat myself to something small and enjoyable before I start sourcing, it puts me into a more pleasant mood. And really, how many of us have been shopping on an empty stomach? It’s not a good time for anyone involved.
I haven’t done the best this week in terms of sourcing profits but not to be discouraged. I am heading to a few stores today with some things in mind and sections in the stores to hit first. Here we go! (Yes, you were supposed to read that like Mario.)
5 Hours of Sourcing
I went to four stores today. I had a bit of success with a couple of them. While the other two stores did not quite turn up as gold mines. The first fine establishment that we stopped at today was Staples. I always like to go straight for their clearance section first.
Staples tends to have some hidden gems in their clearance section, so be sure to check your Staples too. I was successful in finding a few items here. I found a couple of random items, some ink cartridges and a lunch box.
It seems that this lunch box generally sells for about $40 on amazon but the particular print that I found will hopefully be able to net me a bit more as it seems to be in higher demand.
After scoring some profits at Staples, I headed over to a shopping square with both a Marshall’s as well as a Ross, so I went to both of them since they are right next to each other.
Though I must admit that Ross is not my favorite to source from or really even shop at. Marshall’s was a small treasure trove of arbitrage. I got some teas, some beauty products that I can bundle together. I got enough for about 10 bundles.
Finally, I got some Halloween items that usually drop in rank starting in September.
After Marshall’s I walked over to Ross where I did some shopping. After that, the final store I stopped at for the day was Walmart. But spots were duds.
Nada from Ross as well as Walmart.
The Walmart looked basically as if it hadn’t been touched since the last time I was here a couple of days ago. Nothing new, all the same products.
After about five hours out on the hunt in the blistering heat, I am happy with the success that I had today. Everything will be consolidated, added up and boxed for pickup.
Conclusion
After everything was sorted and packed into their respective boxes, I didn’t quite hit my $600 goal for the week, but I was seriously close. So, I am not too bummed about it.
I had a total of four boxes with both my Wednesday and Friday sourcing trips as well as some online sourcing that I did. I had a total buy cost of $497.86 with a net profit of about $508.60. I won’t quite be able to post as much the next couple of weeks, but I will do my best to stay consistent.
