SYNESTHESIA- A condition that crosses your physical senses so that you experience one sense through another. I.e. You hear the word computer and taste cinnamon.

Do you get this feeling when your Rollo Wireless Printer starts flashing its Simon-like color language at you. “Oh no! I don’t speak Color! What is my printer trying to say to me?”

If you have ever found yourself in that predicament, then look no further. I am here to help.

Each Rollo Wireless Printer is packaged with a card with a color-key on it. It explains each of the different colors your printer might display.

Now if you're anything like myself, then you have probably been scouring your home at some point looking for this little card when your printer suddenly changes light colors and you can’t print anymore. I will break it down here for easy and quick reference.

Label Light

There are two lights on top of your printer, the Label Light (square light) and the Wireless Light (vertical bar light.) The label light is straightforward with only 2 colors.

  • Green: Labels are good/Ready to print

  • Red: Labels need adjustment (flashes red when open)

Wireless Light

The wireless light is a bit more confusing if you don’t have the card. There are a few more colors to decipher here.

  • White: Ready to set-up with the Rollo App (In my experience, I have only seen white after I first plugged it in and set it up.)

  • Blue: Connected to wifi/Ready (This is the color you will see most of the time. If it blinks, it means it is connecting to your wifi.)

  • Red: Not connected to your wifi.

  • Green: Updating. The printer will also restart when the update process has finished.

  • Purple: Printing

  • Purple/Yellow: Printer is preparing

Conclusion

Don’t let the blinking UFO lights frighten you. The colors are your friend. Just refer back here if you need help sniffing out just what it is your printer is saying. Green means go and Blue means happy.

If you still have any questions or your printer is giving some other kind of issue or need further support and FAQ’s, then I refer you to:

Frequently asked questions -

What does a blue light on Rollo mean? I am ready to print. If I am flashing red, press me 10 times to Factory Reset me. - rollo.com

Why does my printer keep printing over and over? When Rollo doesn't believe a label has printed correctly, it will attempt to re-print it. If this keeps happening, it is most likely because Rollo hasn't learned your label's properties. This is usually followed by a blinking red light. - support.rolloprinter.com
