With so many products and so much information out there it can be confusing to decide what exactly you need to start your Amazon business.
When I first started I had NO IDEA what I needed or what I should buy. Now that i’ve been selling since 2021, I know exactly what is needed and I wanted to share that information with you.
In this blog post, I’m sharing the list of supplies I used to start and what I continue to use today!
Price Tag Removal
Scan & Prep
Print & Label
Weigh & Ship
So, if you are tired of searching the internet for what exactly you will need to start your Amazon Business, you’re in the right spot!
Price Tag Removal Supplies
After I finish sourcing from retailers like WalMart, Marshalls and Home Goods, I bring all of my goodies home to prep them. Sometimes this includes removing any price tags that may be on the product. Here are the 3 tools, “The Dream Team” that I use to get the price tags off easily.
Scotty peelers help gently remove those stubborn price stickers with a little help from your heat gun or hair dryer. Any residue left can be easily wiped away with Goo Gone. I have provided the links for these products below.
Scan and Prep Supplies
When I first started out, I was typing in hundreds of numbers into Seller Central to add my inventory each week. What a pain! Now I whip out my Deli Wireless Barcode Scanner and scan the products I want to add to my inventory. You don’t NEED this but you will WANT it!
Something you will absolutely NEED is poly bags! This is a absolute MUST! I like to purchase the kind with permanent closure and the required child safety warning already printed on them. I have provided links below for the scanner, a multipack of poly bags and some larger poly bags for bigger items such as backpacks.
Clear round stickers are also handy to have! I use them to seal small boxes to add a little sense of security for your customers.
Print & Labeling Supplies
Before sending your inventory to the Amazon warehouse, you will need to print out labels to attach to your products. This can be done with your standard printer and Avery Labels. That is how I did it for the first couple of months, but I grew tired of buying ink! Then I switched over to a Rollo Thermal Printer and it has been great. It doesn’t require ink and it prints labels on demand in Inventory Lab. You can learn more about Inventory Lab in the Software Section of this blog.
Weight & Shipping Supplies
Now that your inventory is prepped and labeled you will need to ship it off to the the Amazon warehouse! You will need boxes no bigger than 24” and I typically get my boxes at WalMart. You’ll tape your boxes up, weight them and send them on their way! I have linked my favorite shipping supplies below.
If you are considering shipping some things to the customer yourself (FBM) you might need a light weight scale such as the food scale in the link below.
Once I purchased supplies, I had almost everything I needed to get started. When I order my supplies from Amazon they come quick and it has been super easy to re-order when i’m running low.
