This is finally it everyone! My very first day of Amazon Sourcing full-time (If you have been following me on my adventures, then you’ll know that I have decided to make Amazon Sourcing my full-time venture. If not, here is your chance. Go to jeanettesteele.com and subscribe to follow my FBA life adventures and learn how you can make this your life too.)
As I sit in my Gladiator (feeling like a bit of a Roman Legionary myself) in the parking lot of Big Lots sipping on the last few drops of my still so effervescent La Croix getting ready to attack the day, I think, “Is this what it’s like? I have the whole town to myself!”
Let’s see what gifts the day unwraps for us. Shall we?
First Day Of Sourcing
I’ll start off by saying that finding a shopping center with multiple stores for you to source from is always a fantastic find. It saves you both time and money in not having to drive all over town from location to location. A little bit more on that later.
Like I mentioned earlier, Big Lots is the first store that we’re kicking the doors in at 9am. After that, Ace Hardware will be our next stop.
It seems that drink bundles were the hot ticket today at Big Lots. I should also mention to remember to ALWAYS be on the lookout for easy Replens; We found some today. At Ace we were scouring for a BOLO lead which I was actually able to find 2 of! All in all, a success.
Our next pit-stop of the day is at Walgreens. Walgreens isn’t a normal locale that I source from but there is a great lead, again from the wonderful BOLO group, that could net $60 profit. Shortly after Walgreens, we will be heading over to Grocery Outlet Bargain Market and then lastly the 99¢ Store.
Our trip to Walgreens was a small let-down because they didn’t have my item in stock. Although I did learn a good tip to check online to see if the store you are going to has the product you are looking for in stock. Any piece of information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is invaluable.
Grocery Outlet today was spring of products today. We hit several of my go-to sellers from the BOLO group, beauty, grocery and laundry sections. It should be a decent haul for spending a little over an hour there.
Last but certainly not least, the 99¢ Store. I was aiming for a specific drink mix that sold well for me so I decided to add it to my Replen list. Bullseye! We got 6 of them. The mixes should net roughly $28. Not bad for just running in the 99¢ Store.
Conclusion
What did we learn today? To always be armed with your BOLO list and that it may behoove you to check a store’s website once in a while peer in on their inventory.
Doing this could save you some disappointment of your store not having or being sold out of your product. Or it may help you and point you in the direction of a store location that has your product in stock. If they have multiples, it could make it worth your time driving a little bit to a different location.
You just have to ask yourself, how far are you willing to drive to turn a profit?
Frequently asked questions -
What is Amazon Replens? - In the FBA world, a replenishable (or “replen” for short) is an inventory item you can easily restock before your item's stock level at Amazon is depleted. Once you find a replen to sell, you can keep buying it over and over and never run out of stock on Amazon to sell. - fulltimefba.com
Are BOLO Groups worth it? - It is beyond helpful. Even if you're not ungated in many categories there is enough to make money. The BOLOs have to be 50% of higher ROI which really helps make the group worth every penny. The feedback and BOLO's are worth every penny. - yoursellingguide.com
