FIRST “Full Time” Sourcing week review

Welcome back friends! Part deux of my first week of full-time Amazon arbitrage. As we saw in my last video, I spent some time at some of my more “go-to” stores to source from. Today’s jaunt was to a more Walmart-centric shopping center. Now come with me and see what our shipment to Amazon will look like for the week.
Back Out On The Hunt
Today our first stop that we are at at 9am in the morning is Walmart. So far I have found that shopping early in the morning on the weekdays seems a lot more relaxing and tranquil. There are both less people in the parking lot as well as in the stores. The shelves even seem better stocked and organized.
I’m not having too much luck as I cycle through my typical stops in the store i.e., beauty, kids, groceries etc. until I come to the Clearance aisle. The first thing that I notice is how well stocked the Clearance aisle is. Everything from back-to-school supplies to party decor to kids toys.
I scanned just about everything in the aisle without much luck (mostly products not on Amazon or gated products.) It seems that things that I would find and be excited about would turn out that Walmart’s prices on clearance are higher than Amazon’s everyday prices.
I got lucky finding 1 book that I will be able to make good profit from. Unfortunately it was the only one of the items and I couldn’t find it online or anything. I will keep my eyes peeled in the future though.
After Walmart, I headed on over to Homegoods and then Costco as they are all in the same shopping center. I saw a bit of back-to-school supplies at Walmart so I am hoping that I will kind of see the same at Homegoods.
I was actually a bit surprised to see the plethora of Halloween decorations that they already have displayed for sale. I managed to procure from Homegoods a mug that I should profit a few dollars from.
Costco can seem daunting because of the size of the warehouse and the quantity of products, but in actuality it is one of my favorite stores to hunt. The aisles are set up in a way that makes it really simple to scan each product and move down the aisles in a consistent fashion. Like with the rest of the stores today, a pretty moderate haul; just a cookie bundle.
After all is said and done, I am slightly disappointed in the haul this week. I spent $371.20 on products this week. It should have a total sales value of $1,135.31. Which should make my profit $335.59 for the week.
I thought that I was going to have enough to split into 2 shipments to Amazon but I think they will be consolidated into just 1 shipment this week. I only feel disappointed because I felt I could have done the same profits in a single day in previous weeks when this wasn’t my full time endeavor. It's only going to grow from here though.
Conclusion
Not each week is going to be as profitable as the last, but that could be said for just about anything. The profits will increase as time goes on and your inventory grows as well.
